Our Mission

At Bethel Farm Project, we are dedicated to supporting families in need. Our mission is to provide opportunities for those facing unemployment, substance abuse, absent parents, and children turning to the streets. We do this by creating work opportunities, providing skills training, and supporting school attendance.
On the farm, our work team are producing products daily. When you purchase our products you are not only helping us care for our people but also for our environment.
The firewood we sell is clearing existing dead wood and alien trees in our area, thus reducing fire and security risk as well as creating opportunity to restore the land to its natural vegetation.
The horse manure we sell comes from our own horses, which form part of our horse assisted learning program.
The vetkoek we sell is homemade, delicious and traditionally South African!
Additionally, we offer a variety of engaging activities such as horse riding, singing, and crafts. We believe that every child deserves a chance to thrive, and we are committed to making that a reality.

Our journey so far ...

Thank you to all our new participants for joining our journey! Here's a rough outline of our journey so far...

The early soil preparation of Bethel Farm began 3 years ago, 2020, with 2 questions "how can we make horse riding available to underprivileged children?" And "how can we support children in the community?"

A year later, 2021, I teamed with CAP in providing horse assisted therapy to trauma victims in the community. Through this program, I was introduced to "the street kids". Over the next year we formed friendships and created a vision - children in school, parents in the workplace, families in safe homes and souls in His Kingdom.

On our 3ha piece of municipal land in the Hermitage,  we started from the bottom, with a capacity to support only 1 family. Now almost a year later we are reaching our 2nd and 3rd families.

With this growth has come our newest blessing! We are soooo grateful to Margaux Tait for joining us to take care of all our media and marketing! Margaux designed our logo a few months ago and has now created social media accounts and a website too!

Another exciting new partnership is with The Earth Centre, we'll be selling our freshly homemade vetkoek from their stoep from time to time. Our first one to take place next Thursday!

We need to say a regular and huge thank you to Under The Oaks Market for their partnership and support in all we do. We can't wait for more sunny days under the oaks with you!
